Rabid Dogs is a French crime thriller that follows three criminals, Manu (played by Guillaume Gouix), Vincent (played by Francois Arnaud), and Eric (played by Laurent Lucas), who have just pulled off a brazen bank robbery in broad daylight. The trio flees in a high-speed chase through the crowded streets of Brussels, but their escape is cut short when they crash into a truck.

Desperate and on the run, the robbers hijack a car with a young mother, her son, and her injured husband, who is in dire need of medical attention. As the group rockets down the highway and into the depths of the countryside, tensions rise and alliances shift as the robbers try to stay one step ahead of the law and the hostage family tries to survive the harrowing ordeal.

The situation becomes even more complicated when the robbers discover that the hostage family's patriarch (played by Lambert Wilson) is a cold-blooded killer who has recently escaped from prison. He sees this as the perfect opportunity to start a new life abroad, and he will stop at nothing to ensure their escape is successful.

As the miles and the bodies pile up, the robbers and their hostages must navigate the treacherous back roads of Belgium, evade the police, and confront their own demons. The tension builds to a fever pitch as each character struggles to survive and discover their own motivations in this high-stakes game of cat and mouse.

At its core, Rabid Dogs is a thrilling crime drama that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the dark, claustrophobic atmosphere of the car and the wide-open spaces of the Belgian countryside with equal aplomb.

The performances are equally impressive, with Guillaume Gouix delivering a standout turn as Manu, a man whose loyalty to his fellow robbers is tested at every turn. Lambert Wilson is also fantastic as the patriarch, delivering a chilling performance that sets the tone for the entire film.

Virginie Ledoyen is also excellent as the hostage mother, bringing both strength and vulnerability to her role as she tries to protect her family from the dangerous criminals. The chemistry between Ledoyen and Gouix is particularly strong, adding an extra layer of tension to an already tense situation.

Overall, Rabid Dogs is a must-see film for fans of crime thrillers. It offers a unique twist on the genre, taking the action out of the city and into the countryside while still delivering all the suspense and tension audiences have come to expect from the genre. With its stunning visuals, excellent performances, and nail-biting plot, Rabid Dogs is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
