R is the nickname of Ricky the Robot. Ricky just wants to be liked by other people and have a chance to succeed in the world. In order to become a successful career man, he applies for a job at a large company. He begins in the mail room, slowly working his way up to the title of general manager of sales. When the time comes to give R a promotion, the boss tells him to stop trying and that he will never succeed in life. This encourages Ricky to find a new job and ultimately secure his place on the company's list of achievers.
