This romantic love story brings two people with difficult pasts together in a foreign land they have moved to in a bid to escape the past. Cambodian Bopha has made a life for herself in Paris after escaping the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime in her homeland. Owning a restaurant in the heart of Paris she meets and tries to begin a relationship with Vietnamese refugee Mihn, who struggles to make ends meet working as a taxi driver and in a grocery store.
