Python is a made for TV horror movie that was released in 2000. The story follows a group of teenagers from a quiet little town that suddenly realize they have a gigantic snake in their midst and need to destroy it before it eats all of their residents. The movie begins with a group of men on an airplane that are worried about the contents they are transporting. The crate has been moving around on its own and making noises. The crew of the plane decides to open the crate unleashing a huge genetically altered snake that makes quick snacks of them and heads out for the small town of Ruby for dinner.
The first couple to be attacked is a lesbian couple camping in the woods. The women look like they have had acid poured on them. The next day a group of teenagers finds the ball python of one of the women who was killed. The Sheriff suspects John, who works at a plant where he can easily get a hold of acid. When another victim is found the same way John is arrested.
That’s when scientist Anton Rudolf, played by Robert Englund, shows up and tells Greg the sheriff that they have a little bit of a snake problem. It seems that this humongous python is pretty much indestructible. The snake was biologically engineered in Southeast Asia and is a combination of several different types of snakes. The result is a 129 foot long snake that can travel at speeds in access of 50 mph, can’t be stopped with regular ammo because of its tough hide, has night vision, and a very big appetite for human flesh.
As the residents of this sleepy little town become food for the python, the teens, with the sheriff's help, rush to come up with a plan to destroy it.
