Psycho Brother-In-Law is a 2017 thriller about an extremely dysfunctional marriage and the chaos and terror that ensues when the couple's manipulative and psychotic brother-in-law becomes involved. Married couple Kate and Michael move from the city to the suburbs with their daughter in hopes of a fresh start. Kate is a stay-at-home mom, while Michael commutes to work every day. Michael's brother David is an ex-convict who always seems to be in trouble with the law. Although David has a history of causing problems, he is their only family and Michael feels compelled to help him out.

David starts out as a minor annoyance, showing up uninvited and overstaying his welcome. Kate is understandably uncomfortable with David's presence in their home, but Michael insists that they help him. David's true colors are exposed when he becomes violent and aggressive towards Kate, threatening her and communicating a desire to have her for himself. As the situation escalates, Kate is forced to take matters into her own hands to protect herself and her family.

The film is tense and suspenseful, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the viewer on their toes. The acting is solid all around, particularly from Brittany Falardeau, who plays Kate. She does an excellent job conveying the fear and desperation that her character feels as she navigates the dangerous situation with David. Similarly, Mike Duff is convincing as the manipulative and unhinged David, making him a truly unsettling presence on screen.

One aspect of the film that stands out is its exploration of toxic masculinity. David is a classic example of the toxic and entitled male who feels that he has the right to control and dominate women. The film does not shy away from portraying his behavior as abusive and unacceptable, and it is refreshing to see a movie that takes this issue seriously. Kate's struggle to assert herself and protect her family is a powerful portrayal of the strength and resilience of women in the face of toxic masculinity.

The film's pacing is strong, with a steady buildup of tension throughout that leads to a satisfying and intense climax. The cinematography and sound design are both effective in creating a dark and unsettling atmosphere that supports the film's menacing tone. The movie is well-directed by Devon Downs and Kenny Gage, who keep the action tight and engaging.

Overall, Psycho Brother-In-Law is a solid thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Its exploration of toxic masculinity and portrayal of a strong and resourceful female protagonist make it a worthwhile addition to the genre.
