The Protector is a 2005 action movie directed by Prachya Pinkaew and starring Tony Jaa, Nathan Jones, and Xing Jin. The movie follows the story of a young Thai man named Kham (Tony Jaa), who travels to Sydney to retrieve two stolen elephants that are dear to his family and his village. The journey, however, is not going to be an easy one, as Kham will have to face ruthless criminals, corrupt officials, and powerful fighters to fulfill his mission.

The movie begins with Kham living a peaceful life in a rural village in Thailand with his father and his pack of elephants. One day, two Australian businessmen, who are interested in breeding elephants, visit the village and offer to buy Kham's family elephants. Kham's father refuses politely, but the men secretly plot to steal the elephants later. When Kham finds out that the elephants are gone, he decides to go after them and bring them back, no matter the cost.

As Kham arrives in Sydney, he teams up with a Thai police officer named Mark (Petchtai Wongkamlao) who has been investigating the same crime, but independently. Soon, they discover that the elephants were stolen by a gang of criminals led by Madame Rose (Xing Jin), who plans to sell them to a rich businessman named Mr. Suchart (Nathan Jones). Kham and Mark try to track down the gang, but they soon realize that they are not going to have an easy time dealing with them.

The plot of the movie is quite simple and predictable, but what makes The Protector a remarkable movie is its adrenaline-fueled action sequences and its stunning martial arts choreography. Tony Jaa's performance as Kham is impressive, showcasing his incredible skills in Muay Thai, a traditional Thai martial art that involves the use of fists, elbows, knees, and feet. Jaa performs a range of acrobatic and intense fight scenes, including a memorable one-take sequence in which he fights his way up several levels of a building, taking down dozens of thugs along the way.

The movie also features some impressive performances from its supporting cast. Xing Jin's portrayal of Madame Rose is particularly noteworthy, as she plays a formidable villain who is both ruthless and cunning. Nathan Jones, a former professional wrestler, brings physicality and charisma to his role as Mr. Suchart, a powerful businessman who is also an accomplished fighter.

Aside from its action scenes, The Protector is also notable for its visual style and cinematography. The movie features several breathtaking shots of Sydney, including an aerial view of the city's famous landmarks, such as the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The movie's use of slow-motion and quick cuts during fight scenes also adds to its intensity and excitement.

Overall, The Protector is a must-watch for fans of action movies and martial arts films. Tony Jaa's incredible skills, combined with the movie's impressive cinematography and adrenaline-fueled action sequences, make it a thrilling and unforgettable cinematic experience.
