Pride and Glory is a 2008 crime drama film that centers around the Tierney family, an Irish-American police family who have served in the New York City Police Department for generations. The movie tells the story of four NYPD officers who are implicated in the death of several civilians during a drug bust gone wrong. The Tierney family patriarch, Francis Sr. (Jon Voight), is the chief of detectives and is determined to protect his family's name and his department's reputation.

The film stars Edward Norton as Ray Tierney, a detective who has always tried to distance himself from his family's legacy in the NYPD. However, when the scandal erupts, he is forced to confront his own loyalty to his family and his own moral compass. Colin Farrell plays his hot-headed brother-in-law, Jimmy Egan, a fellow detective who is implicated in the scandal. Noah Emmerich plays their brother, Francis Jr., who is torn between his loyalty to his family and his duty to uphold the law.

As Ray begins to investigate the case, he realizes that the corruption runs deep within the department and that his own family may be involved. Tensions rise as secrets are revealed, and the Tierney family is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a cop in one of the most violent and corrupt cities in America.

The film is a gritty portrayal of police corruption and family loyalty in the face of overwhelming adversity. The performances by Norton, Farrell, and Emmerich are top-notch and bring a depth and authenticity to their characters. Jon Voight also delivers a standout performance as the elder Tierney, infusing his character with a commanding presence and a sense of authority.

The movie features an intense and gripping storyline, which is expertly directed by Gavin O'Connor. The camera work and cinematography create a dark and oppressive atmosphere that perfectly captures the grit and danger of the city streets. The movie's pacing is steady, and the tension never lets up, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats until the final credits roll.

In addition to its excellent performances and direction, Pride and Glory also features a powerful and emotional score by composer Mark Isham. The music adds an extra layer of depth and emotion to the already intense and dramatic storyline.

Overall, Pride and Glory is a must-see film for fans of crime dramas and police procedurals. Its expert direction, excellent performances, and emotional storyline make it a standout film within the genre. The movie offers a sobering look at the dark side of law enforcement, as well as the complexities of family loyalty and the lengths to which people will go to protect the ones they love.

Pride and Glory is a 2008 crime movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 10 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.6 and a MetaScore of 45.
