In this comedy film, Amos T. Huxley is a conman who travels to the South, pretending to be a preacher. He chooses a small community where he thinks it will be easy pickings to swindle local residents and moonshiners out of their hard-earned money, in addition to seducing the local women. But when he tries to seduce Mary Lou, her former boyfriend becomes suspicious and asks the local police to investigate who Huxley really is.
