Polterheist is a 2018 British comedy horror film that revolves around two small-time crooks who rob a notorious gangster's vault filled with gold bars. However, little do they know that not only the gangster but also the ghosts residing in the vault would haunt them forever. The movie opens with the introduction of the two protagonists, Jack and his accomplice, along with their escapades as petty thieves. They get an opportunity of a lifetime when they overhear about a vault filled with gold bars. Without wasting any time, they break into the vault of the notorious gangster Terry Murphy, played by Sid Akbar Ali.

As the two create a loud ruckus, they soon realize that something strange is going on inside the vault. However, they are too determined to leave without the gold bars. Much to their dismay, the vault door shuts behind them, trapping them inside. They turn around to leave, only to see the ghost of Tommy Murphy (Jamie Cymbal), Terry's brother who he killed, who haunts them every step of the way.

The entire movie is set in the confined space of the vault where the characters are forced to interact with each other. The plotline deals with complex themes of redemption, revenge, and morality.

The chemistry between the two central characters, Jack and his accomplice, is brilliant. They have an effortless comic timing, which adds a hilarious charm to the movie. The scriptwriter has smartly intermingled comic elements and horror aspects to create this one-of-a-kind movie.

However, It is not just the banter between the two primary characters that makes Polterheist noteworthy. Every character in the movie has a backstory that is equally compelling.
