Meanwhile, Fat Amy's father, Fergus, played by John Lithgow, tries to reconnect with his daughter, but his intentions soon become questionable. He reveals that he is an international criminal wanted by the FBI and Interpol, and he uses the tour to smuggle a bag of diamonds.

As the Bellas continue with the tour, their friendships and bonds are tested. Beca struggles to handle the pressure of being a music producer, while Chloe tries to lead the group in her absence. Aubrey also faces a tough time when she goes against Cynthia-Rose's interest to keep the group together.

The Bellas overcome these challenges and ultimately find what they want to do after the tour. They also perform some amazing mashups and covers of popular songs and create a new original song, "Freedom! '90" by George Michael.
