The film begins with Ram and Mythili as young children living in a village in Tamil Nadu. Ramâs parents run a small business, and Mythiliâs father is a school principal. The children spend their days playing together, and their friendship blossoms into a deep bond. However, one day, Ramâs family moves to Chennai, and he loses touch with Mythili.
Years later, Ram is a successful businessman in Chennai, and he runs into Mythili again. They immediately recognize each other, and their friendship picks up where it left off. However, after their marriage, their relationship undergoes more trials when Ram is accused of a crime he didnât commit. As a result, he is sent to jail, and Mythili suffers in his absence. She tries to prove his innocence but faces many obstacles along the way. Eventually, with the help of his friend and lawyer Kadir (played by Jomol), Ram is released from jail, and he and Mythili are reunited.
The filmâs soundtrack, composed by music director SA Rajkumar, became very popular upon its release. Songs like âMegamai Vanthu Pogirenâ, âKonjum Mainakkaleâ, and âOru Thadavai Solvayaâ were chartbusters and are still remembered by audiences today.
