Petey Wheatstraw: The Devil's Son-in-Law is a classic blaxploitation film from 1977, written and directed by Rudy Ray Moore. The movie follows the exploits of the titular character, Petey Wheatstraw, who is a 70s-era stand-up comedian who has a knack for curse-filled one-liners and deadpan delivery. Petey Wheatstraw is a man with a plan, and that plan is to become the top stand-up comedian in the world. But things take a turn for the worse when Petey is killed in a car accident by a gang of criminals who were trying to steal his car. But Petey isn't ready to call it quits just yet – he makes a deal with the devil to come back to life and get revenge on his killers.

As Petey sets out to hunt down his murderers, he runs into a cast of colorful characters, including Jimmy Lynch's character, who plays a rival comedian, and Eboni Wryte's character, who plays Petey's love interest. Along the way, Petey also has to deal with Lady Reed's character, who plays the devil's daughter and is hell-bent on getting Petey to marry her.

The movie is full of classic blaxploitation tropes like over-the-top violence, crude humor, and larger-than-life characters. But underneath it all, there's a sense of heart and a message about the importance of loyalty and sticking together, even in the face of adversity.

Rudy Ray Moore's performance as Petey Wheatstraw is the highlight of the film. His deadpan delivery and comedic timing are impeccable, and he manages to bring a lot of depth to a character that could have easily been one-dimensional.

The movie also features a great soundtrack, with funk and soul-inspired tunes that perfectly capture the vibe of the 70s.

While Petey Wheatstraw: The Devil's Son-in-Law is certainly not for everyone, it's a classic example of the blaxploitation genre and is sure to entertain anyone with a love for over-the-top action and crude humor.
