Pekak is a 2015 Malaysian drama film directed by Mohd Khairul Azriez and starring Zahiril Adzim, Sharifah Amani, and Amerul Affendi. The movie tells the story of Uda (Zahiril Adzim), a deaf and mute boy who struggles in life due to his inability to communicate with the outside world. The film follows Uda's journey as he attempts to navigate through his daily life in a world that is full of struggles and challenges.

From the beginning of the movie, it becomes apparent how his disability has restricted him from leading a normal life. He is not able to attend school, communicate with his parents, listen to music or enjoy the simple pleasure of watching television. Despite facing all these difficulties, Uda has a positive outlook on life, and he finds solace in his hobbies, which include drawing and painting.

As the story unfolds, the audience learns that Uda has a difficult family life. He lives in a small house with his parents and his two brothers who are all involved in illegal activities. Uda's father, Tan Sri (Eizlan Yusof), is a drug kingpin, and his mother, Mama (Khiriah Ibrahim), is a prostitute. Uda's older brother, Jamil (Amerul Affendi), is a drug addict, and his younger brother, Iman (Zaidi Omar), is a burglar.

Despite living in such a harsh environment, Uda is determined to change his life and fulfill his dream of becoming an artist. He meets Zain (Sharifah Amani), a young woman who works as a tattoo artist, and they become friends. Zain teaches Uda sign language, and they develop a bond that helps Uda learn to communicate with the world around him.

As Uda's life begins to take a positive turn, tragedy strikes, leaving him heartbroken and lost. Uda's journey becomes more challenging as he tries to come to terms with the loss while also fighting to achieve his dreams.

The movie's direction and cinematography are top-notch, and the portrayals by the actors are flawless. Zahiril Adzim's performance as Uda is excellent, and he perfectly captures the emotions of a young man struggling with the difficulties of life. Sharifah Amani is also noteworthy in her performance as Zain, Uda's friend, and mentor.

The film's themes of hope, resilience, and determination make it an inspiring watch for anyone who has ever faced adversity in their lives. Pekak highlights the struggles and obstacles often faced by deaf and mute people in society, and the film serves as an eye-opener for the need for more inclusivity and accommodation for people with disabilities.

Overall, Pekak is a well-made movie that tells a compelling story that pulls at the heartstrings. The acting is brilliant, and the message of the movie is powerful. The film is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates great storytelling and inspiring movies. However, it is not suitable for young viewers due to its strong language and mature themes.
