Peeples is a 2013 comedy movie that tells the story of Wade Walker, a children's entertainer, who is dating Grace Peeples, a successful lawyer from an influential and wealthy family. Wade is eager to impress Grace's family and win their approval to ask for her hand in marriage. However, Grace's father, Virgil, is very overprotective of his family and is not too fond of Wade's profession.

The movie is set in the elegant and exclusive Sag Harbor, New York, where most of the action takes place over the course of one long weekend. Wade has decided it's time to pop the question to Grace, but he feels he first needs to meet her family and make a good impression. The only problem is that he has never met any of them, and Grace has yet to tell her family about their relationship.

When Grace heads off to Sag Harbor to attend her family's annual gathering, she tells Wade to stay behind and wait until she gives him the green light to join them. However, Wade, insistent on winning her father's approval, decides to take matters into his own hands and surprises the family by showing up at their doorstep uninvited. This begins a series of hilarious events that lead Wade to reveal the truth about their relationship to the Peeples family.

Once he arrives at Sag Harbor, Wade soon discovers that Grace's family is very unique, to say the least. Each of them has their own idiosyncrasies, from the artistic sister, Gloria, who is heavily into spiritualism, to the seemingly perfect younger brother, Simon, who has his own surprising secret. Wade's strong desire to impress Virgil and win his blessing leads him to attempt increasingly desperate measures that lead to chaos, confusion, and a lot of unexpected surprises.

In addition to the hilarious antics of the characters, Peeples also delivers strong themes of love, acceptance, and growth. The movie explores the dynamics and relationships that families create and how they can either limit or support personal growth. It also shows how, even though families may not always agree, at the end of the day, love and acceptance of one another can overcome any obstacle.

Peeples boasts an all-star cast, including Craig Robinson as Wade, Kerry Washington as Grace, and David Alan Grier as Virgil. Each actor brings their unique comedic timing and style to their characters, making the movie an entertaining and enjoyable watch from beginning to end.

Overall, Peeples is a funny, uplifting, and heartwarming movie that has become a cult classic since its release. With quirky characters and a message of love and acceptance, it is a must-see comedy for anyone who enjoys a good laugh and a heartwarming story.

Peeples is a 2013 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4 and a MetaScore of 52.
