Pardesi Babu is a Bollywood romantic comedy movie released in 1998, directed by Manoj Agrawal and produced by Kulbhushan Gupta. The film features Govinda in the lead role, along with Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty Kundra as female leads. The story follows the life of a young man, Raju (Govinda), who comes from a small village in Uttar Pradesh and dreams of making it big in the city of Mumbai. He has a fun-loving nature and is always ready to help others. One day, he comes across a lady, Janaki (Raveena Tandon), who has lost her purse. Raju helps her and falls in love with her at first sight. However, Janaki, being a modern, independent woman, is not interested in him.
Raju then decides to go to Mumbai to make his fortune and win Janaki's heart. In Mumbai, he meets a rich businessman, Gulel Singh (Shakti Kapoor), who offers him a job as a manager of his company. Raju accepts the offer and starts working in the company. One day, Raju comes across a young girl, Kusum (Shilpa Shetty Kundra), who has lost her father and is all alone. Raju decides to help her and takes her under his wing.
Raju's honesty and hard work catch the attention of Gulel Singh, who offers him a partnership in the company. Raju accepts the offer and becomes very successful. Meanwhile, Janaki realizes her feelings for Raju and comes to Mumbai to confess her love to him. However, she finds out about Kusum and misunderstands the situation, believing that Raju has an affair with Kusum.
What follows is a series of hilarious incidents and misunderstandings, as Janaki tries to make Raju jealous by dating his best friend, Chinnappa (Aasif Sheikh). Raju, on the other hand, tries to prove his innocence and win Janaki's heart.
Overall, Pardesi Babu is a light-hearted and funny romantic-comedy that showcases Govinda's acting skills and his impeccable comic timing. The movie is a perfect blend of comedy, romance, and drama, and is a must-watch for fans of Bollywood movies. The film's music, composed by Anand-Milind, is also a highlight of the movie, with songs like "Kuchh Khona Hai, Kuchh Paana Hai" and "It Happens Only In India" being popular among the audience.
