Paap is a 2003 Indian thriller film directed by Pooja Bhatt and produced by Manish Malhotra. The movie stars John Abraham, Udita Goswami, and Mohan Agashe in the lead roles. The story of the movie revolves around a young police officer named Shiven (John Abraham) who is sent to a remote village in Himachal Pradesh to investigate a case of a missing young girl.

The film begins with the introduction of a young girl named Kaya (Udita Goswami), who lives with her father, a priest named Baba (Mohan Agashe), in a remote village in the mountains. Kaya is a free spirit, who loves to sing and dance. One day, she meets a stranger named Shiven, who is also a musician. Shiven is immediately smitten by Kaya’s beauty, but as he tries to get to know her more, he realizes that there is something strange about her and her father.

As Shiven investigates the case of the missing girl, he uncovers some shocking truths about Kaya and her father. He starts to suspect that Baba is involved in the girl’s disappearance and is hiding something from him. At the same time, he is drawn towards Kaya, who seems to have a mysterious charm that he cannot resist.

The movie is shot in the beautiful locations of Himachal Pradesh, and the cinematography captures the mesmerizing beauty of the mountains. The music of the movie is also a highlight, with soulful tracks like ‘Intezaar’, ‘Laagi Tumse Mann Ki Lagan’, and ‘Maula’.

John Abraham gives a decent performance as Shiven, the young police officer who is torn between his duty and his feelings for Kaya. Udita Goswami shines as Kaya, who is both innocent and enigmatic at the same time. Mohan Agashe is brilliant as Baba, the priest who has a dark secret that he will go to any lengths to protect.

The movie deals with themes like love, sacrifice, and the power of faith. However, the execution of the story is flawed, with several loopholes and inconsistencies in the plot. The movie builds up to a suspenseful climax, but the resolution is abrupt and unsatisfying.

Overall, Paap is a decent thriller with a captivating lead pair and beautiful visuals. However, the weak script hinders its potential to be a great film. The movie is worth a watch for anyone who loves thrillers and is looking for some beautiful cinematography and soul-stirring music.
