As one of the most popular horror-comedy movie franchises of Thailand, the third installment of Oh My Ghost does not disappoint. Released in 2013, it follows the story of Jiew, a young girl who has the ability to see ghosts, just like her grandmother did. Jiew is forced to use her supernatural powers to help a group of ghosts who are seeking help from Phra Singh, a monk who has the power to perform exorcisms.
The movie begins with a group of friends who travel to an abandoned school that is said to be haunted by the ghost of a female student who died in a tragic manner. Unbeknownst to them, Jiew is also present in the same school as she is helping another ghost who was a former student of the school. As soon as the group of friends enter the abandoned building, they become trapped inside as the ghost of the dead student begins to haunt them. The only way for them to escape is by finding a way out before the ghost kills them all.
Meanwhile, Jiew is contacted by a group of ghosts who need her help. These ghosts are seeking Phra Singh as they believe he can help them find closure and move on. They are unable to pass to the afterlife because they have unfinished business and are not at peace. The group of ghosts follows Jiew everywhere she goes, not hesitating to make their presence known. As they try to convince her to help them, Jiew becomes more and more involved in their plight.
The story takes a twist when Jiew discovers that the ghosts are not entirely honest with her. They are not seeking Phra Singh for help, but rather to trick him with their own selfish reasons. With the help of a handsome new love interest and her best friend, Jiew begins to discover the truth behind their actions and realizes that she must act fast to save Phra Singh and restore the balance between the living and the dead.
One of the strengths of Oh My Ghost 3 is the excellent cast. Kohtee Aramboy plays Jiew and he gives a great performance, portraying a character torn between helping these lost souls and discovering the truth about their intentions. Sudarat Butrprom plays the role of the ghost who has enlisted Jiew's help and she brings an ethereal quality to the character that is both haunting and sad at the same time. Kom Chauncheun is also noteworthy as Phra Singh, the monk who has to navigate through the paranormal to get his job done.
Another strength of this movie is the plot, which has a lot of twists and turns that make it difficult to predict what will happen next. The story is gripping and will keep the audience on the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen to Jiew and the ghosts she is trying to help. The cinematography is also excellent, with some stunning shots of the abandoned school that make it look all the more eerie.
The downside of Oh My Ghost 3 is that it may be difficult for those who have not seen the first two installments to follow along with the plot. While it can be enjoyed as a standalone, there are certain references and characters that will be confusing without prior knowledge of the previous movies. Also, the horror elements of the movie may be too intense for some viewers who are not fans of the genre.
Overall, Oh My Ghost 3 is a great addition to the franchise and is a must-watch for fans of horror-comedy movies. The story is engaging, the cast is excellent and the cinematography is breathtaking. The movie is a fun ride that leaves the audience wanting more.
