Nowhere to Go But Up is an American romantic comedy with dramatic elements. The film centers on 23-year-old Val who moves to New York to fulfill her big dreams of becoming an actress. Val finds herself lonely in the big city with no friends or family nearby for support. Things are not going as she planned, until she meets a writer who is suffering from writer's block. She becomes his muse and the two have big dreams of winning the award come Oscar night.
