Naan Sigappu Manithan is a Tamil-language action thriller film that was released in 1985. The movie features superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role and Bhagyaraj and Ambika in supporting roles. Directed by S.A. Chandrasekhar and produced by S.S. Neelakantan, the movie was one of the biggest hits of the year. The movie's plot revolves around a young man named Indiran, played by Rajinikanth, who suffers from a rare and unusual condition called narcolepsy. This disorder causes him to fall asleep uncontrollably at any given moment, without warning. Due to this, Indiran's life is greatly affected, both at home and at work. He is forced to take a break from his job as a banker, which in turn leads to his financial troubles.
One day, Indiran witnesses a gruesome crime, where a group of men rob and murder a woman. He tries to stop them, but his condition makes it difficult for him to be taken seriously. The incident leaves him traumatized, and he decides to take justice into his own hands.
With the help of his close friend, Bhagyaraj, Indiran begins to investigate the case. As he delves deeper, he discovers that the culprits behind the crime are politically powerful, and thus untouchable. Indiran has to use all his wit and intelligence to bring the criminals to justice, despite his condition.
Naan Sigappu Manithan is a well-made thriller, with some excellent performances from the cast. Rajinikanth, in particular, is outstanding in his portrayal of Indiran. He brings a great deal of emotional depth to the role and portrays the character's vulnerability with great conviction. Bhagyaraj, too, is impressive in his performance as Indiran's friend.
The film also has some great action sequences that are well-choreographed and executed. The final fight scene, in particular, is a standout moment in the movie. The music, composed by Ilaiyaraaja, is also noteworthy, with some beautiful melodies that add to the film's emotional impact.
Overall, Naan Sigappu Manithan is an engaging and entertaining film that is definitely worth watching. The film's strong narrative, excellent performances, and well-shot action sequences make it stand out from other films of its time.
