Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery is a 2015 made-for-TV movie based on the novels by Joanne Fluke. It stars Alison Sweeney as Hannah Swensen, a small-town baker and amateur sleuth who gets caught up in a murder investigation during the Christmas season. The movie starts with the annual Christmas pudding contest in Lake Eden, Minnesota. Hannah is one of the judges, alongside her friend and sometime love interest, Detective Mike Kingston (Cameron Mathison). The contest turns deadly when one of the contestants, Nancy, dies after tasting her own pudding. The cause of death is determined to be poison, and Mike quickly makes Hannah a suspect since she supplied the flour used by Nancy.

Hannah sets out to clear her name and find the real killer, much to the distress of her over-protective mother Delores (Barbara Niven) and best friend Andrea (Lisa Durupt), who worry for her safety. She enlists the help of her two youngest sisters, Michelle (Tammy Gillis) and Andrea (Erin Krakow), and together they investigate the mystery and try to piece together the clues.

As Hannah delves deeper into the case, she discovers that Nancy had many enemies in town, including her own sister-in-law, who was also a contestant in the pudding contest. There's also Nancy's cheating husband and her business partner who wanted to buy her out. As Hannah gets closer to the truth, she puts herself in danger and must uncover the killer before they strike again.

The movie is a cozy mystery, with a charming small-town setting and a cast of lovable characters. Alison Sweeney is engaging as Hannah, a smart and resourceful woman who can bake a mean cinnamon roll while also cracking a murder case. Cameron Mathison is equally charming as Mike, the handsome detective who has a soft spot for Hannah but also needs to do his job. Barbara Niven is great as Hannah's overbearing mother, who has a knack for meddling but ultimately just wants her daughters to be safe. And Lisa Durupt is funny as Andrea, Hannah's best friend who provides comic relief and moral support.

The movie is also filled with mouth-watering shots of baked goods, as Hannah runs her own bakery called The Cookie Jar. The town of Lake Eden is picturesque and festive, with snow-covered streets and twinkling holiday lights. The Christmas theme adds to the cozy atmosphere, with scenes of carols, tree decorating, and gift-giving.

Overall, Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery is a fun and enjoyable mystery movie that will appeal to fans of cozy mysteries and holiday-themed films. It's light but engaging, with likable characters, a charming setting, and a satisfying whodunit plot. Whether you're a fan of the books or discovering the story for the first time, you'll be entertained by this sweet and suspenseful movie.
