Murder Ahoy! is a British comedy-mystery film from 1964, directed by George Pollock and starring Margaret Rutherford, Lionel Jeffries, and Charles 'Bud' Tingwell. It is the fourth film in the Miss Marple series, based on the novels by Agatha Christie. Rutherford portrays a retired detective, Miss Marple, who becomes involved in yet another case when she is invited to join the board of trustees of a charity organization called the "Fernly Park Foundation", whose aim is to reform young delinquents. However, when the body of the foundation's former chairman is discovered floating in the ocean, Miss Marple begins to suspect foul play. She enlists the help of her old friend, Chief Inspector Craddock (Tingwell), to investigate the death.

The investigation leads them to the boys' reformatory on the isolated island of Murgatroyd, where the foundation has its headquarters. There, they encounter a group of eccentric characters, including the new chairman of the foundation, Lionel Jeffries's character, and his wife, played by Flora Robson. Other suspects include a shady businessman who has been meddling with the foundation's finances, and another trustee who seems more interested in the fortune of the late chairman's widow than in the welfare of the boys.

As the investigation progresses, Miss Marple's sharp mind and her keen observation skills prove invaluable in unraveling the mystery. The film is full of witty dialogue and humorous situations, even as it manages to keep the audience guessing until the very end.

One of the highlights of the movie is, of course, Margaret Rutherford's performance as Miss Marple. Rutherford perfectly captures the character's idiosyncrasies and quirks, while still making her sympathetic and likable. Her chemistry with Charles Tingwell's Chief Inspector Craddock is also a delight to watch, as the two share a teasing, almost flirtatious banter throughout the film. Lionel Jeffries provides solid support as the new chairman of the foundation, who is initially dismissive of Miss Marple's meddling but gradually comes to respect her cleverness.

The film also features some stunning location shots, as the action moves between the reformatory on the isolated island, Miss Marple's quaint English village, and the hustle-and-bustle of London. The music, composed by Ron Goodwin, is also a plus, adding to the atmosphere of the film without ever becoming intrusive.

Overall, Murder Ahoy! is a delightful and entertaining movie that will appeal to fans of both Agatha Christie and classic British comedies. Margaret Rutherford's portrayal of Miss Marple is a true classic, and the ensemble cast provides more than enough laughs and intrigue to keep viewers engaged.

Murder Ahoy! is a 1964 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.0.
