More Dead Than Alive is a classic western movie released in 1969 that showcases the life of a notorious gunfighter named Cain who returns to his hometown after serving 18 years in prison. The film is directed by Robert Sparr and features a stellar cast of Clint Walker, Vincent Price, Anne Francis, Paul Hampton, and Beverly Powers. The film starts with Cain (Clint Walker) being released from prison, where he served his sentence for killing five people in one day. He is now 45 years old and walks with a limp after being shot in the leg during a prison riot. Cain, who is now broke and has nowhere to go, decides to return to his hometown and start a new life. However, his reputation as a deadly gunfighter precedes him and people are afraid of him.

Cain soon finds work at a Wild West show, where he performs as a sharpshooter. He befriends a young sharpshooter named Billy Buchanon (Paul Hampton) who idolizes Cain and wants to learn from him. Cain is reluctant to train him, but when a rival show challenges them, Cain agrees to take up the challenge and train Billy. Meanwhile, a wealthy widow named Monica Alton (Anne Francis) takes an interest in Cain and offers him a job as her bodyguard.

Vincent Price plays the role of Dan Ruffalo, a man who was once Cain's friend, but is now bitter after being crippled by Cain during a gunfight. Ruffalo is now the owner of a saloon and after hearing of Cain's return, he plots to kill him. The rivalry between Cain and Ruffalo comes to a head when Ruffalo hires a deadly gunfighter named Deke Simons (Mike Henry) to kill Cain.

As the movie progresses, Cain's relationship with Monica deepens, and he starts to feel like he has a chance at a new life. However, his past comes back to haunt him when Deke Simons comes looking for him. A final showdown between Cain and Deke Simons takes place in Monica's house, and the outcome leaves everyone surprised.

More Dead Than Alive is a classic western movie that perfectly captures the essence of the Wild West. The movie delves into the psyche of a gunfighter who is trying to start a new life but is constantly haunted by his past. Clint Walker delivers an outstanding performance as Cain, playing the role with just the right amount of intensity and vulnerability.
