Miracle Beach is a romantic comedy film directed by SK Dale and released in 1992. It stars Dean Cameron as Scotty, a down-on-his-luck young man who is struggling to find his way in life. One day, he discovers Miracle Beach, a mystical place where he meets the girl of his dreams, Jeannie (played by Ami Dolenz). The movie begins with Scotty working as a parking attendant at a Los Angeles beach. He can't seem to get anything right, and his boss, Mr. Thorpe (played by Pat Morita), is constantly on his case. Scotty is also struggling to pay his bills and keep his car running. One day, he decides to take a break and heads down to the beach for some sunshine and relaxation.
On the beach, Scotty meets a strange old man named Sampson (played by Alexis Arquette). Sampson gives Scotty a mysterious coin and tells him that if he flips it, anything he desires will come true. Skeptical at first, Scotty decides to give it a try, and lo and behold, his wish is granted when he meets Jeannie, a beautiful and intelligent woman who seems to be perfect for him.
Scotty and Jeannie hit it off right away, and they spend the day together exploring Miracle Beach. They go parasailing, play beach volleyball, and even run into a couple of Elvis impersonators. Jeannie tells Scotty that she is a marine biologist, and she teaches him all about the different sea creatures that live in the area.
As the day wears on, Scotty begins to realize that something strange is going on at Miracle Beach. Every time he flips the coin, his wishes come true, but there is always a catch. For instance, when he wishes for a romantic dinner with Jeannie, they end up at a restaurant where they are the only customers, and the chef seems to be a bit crazy.
Despite the strange occurrences, Scotty is convinced that Miracle Beach is the key to his happiness. However, he soon learns that there are forces at play that he cannot control. Jeannie reveals that she is being pursued by a rich and powerful man named Bradford (played by Brian Perry), who will stop at nothing to make her his own. Scotty also discovers that Sampson is not what he seems, and that he has his own motives for helping Scotty.
As the plot unfolds, Scotty and Jeannie find themselves in the middle of a love triangle with Bradford. They also discover that there is a hidden treasure on Miracle Beach that Sampson is after. In the end, Scotty must decide whether his love for Jeannie is worth risking everything for.
Miracle Beach is a charming and lighthearted movie that will appeal to fans of romantic comedies. The chemistry between Dean Cameron and Ami Dolenz is palpable, and their comedic timing is spot-on. The supporting cast also delivers strong performances, with Felicity Waterman and Pat Morita standing out in their respective roles.
The movie is set against the backdrop of the beautiful Southern California beaches, which provide a stunning visual backdrop for the story. The soundtrack is also noteworthy, with songs by artists such as The Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, and Little Richard.
