Alice pretends to be a school teacher with a Ph.D., whilst Tatiana pretends to be an investment banker - their deception plan worked. However, when at the family wedding, both Alice and Tatiana revealed their true identities and wild nature which caused chaos and wrecked the wedding in a way that Mike and Dave's family never thought possible.

From drunken antics, working on improving their lives to attempting to control their wild, crazy dates, the duo gets dragged into all sorts, including fights, parties, and even drugs. Alice's innocent character fools everyone in the film into thinking that she is sweet and meek, but as the action progresses, it becomes clear that she also knows how to have fun.

The movie has many hilarious moments made possible by the exceptional acting of the cast, especially Kendrick and Plaza. The movie’s humor derives from the subversion of typical romantic comedy tropes, gender stereotypes, and its ability to make its characters act utterly ridiculous while still remaining relatable.
