This French family drama sees Elise enjoying the summer of 1966 when her mother suddenly abandons the family for unexplained reasons. At first Elise does not understand what has happened and watches on as her father struggles to keep the family together and her brothers retreat into their own worlds. Eventually, Elise decides the time has come for her to take a stand and takes control of the family to lead them through what remains of the summer.
