Malevolence is a 2004 horror thriller directed by Stevan Mena. The movie takes place on a farm in rural Pennsylvania and follows a group of criminals who attempt to pull off a heist. However, their plans are interrupted by a psychopathic serial killer who hunts his victims down one by one. The movie starts with the abduction of a young boy named Martin Bristol. We later learn that Martin's abductor is a man who has been torturing and killing children for years. After the opening scene, we fast forward to the present day, where a group of criminals are planning a bank heist. The group includes Kurt, his girlfriend, and two other accomplices. However, things don't go as planned when they discover that the bank is closed for renovations. With no other options, they decide to change their plan and rob a nearby house instead.

As they arrive at the house, they discover that it was once the site of an old slaughterhouse. The house is now occupied by a mother and her daughter, who are both tied up inside. The criminals soon realize that they have stumbled upon something much more sinister when they hear strange noises coming from the barn. They soon discover that the old slaughterhouse is now the lair of a serial killer who has been terrorizing the area for years.

The killer is a man named Martin Bristol, who was the young boy abducted at the beginning of the movie. He has been raised and brainwashed by his abductor and has become a cold-blooded killer who preys on anyone who enters his property. Martin has an uncanny ability to anticipate the movements of his victims and is able to outsmart the criminals who have invaded his property.

The story is told in a nonlinear fashion, with flashbacks to Martin's abduction scattered throughout the movie. These flashbacks provide insight into Martin's traumatic past and explain his motivations for his killings.

The cinematography is one of the film's standout elements. The use of lighting and camera angles create a sense of dread and tension throughout the movie. The film's soundtrack is also effective in adding to the eerie atmosphere.

The performances of the cast are also noteworthy. R. Brandon Johnson delivers a convincing portrayal of Kurt, the leader of the group. Samantha Dark gives a nuanced performance as the mother who is tied up in the house. Heather Magee, who plays Martin's abductor, also delivers a chilling performance.

Malevolence is a well-crafted horror film that delivers on its promise to scare and disturb its audience. The movie's tense atmosphere, clever storytelling, and solid performances make it a must-watch for horror fans. However, the movie's violence and disturbing content make it unsuitable for viewers who are sensitive to gore and violence.

Malevolence is a 2004 crime movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.0 and a MetaScore of 43.
