Make Me Shudder is a 2013 Thai horror-comedy film directed by Poj Arnon. The movie revolves around a group of high school friends who decide to perform a prank on their schoolmates. However, the prank goes wrong and they end up disturbing the spirit of a deceased student, who was famous for his pranks during his time at the school. The students must then work together to appease the spirit before it takes revenge on them.
The main character of the movie is a teenager named Nick, played by Kunatip Pinpradub. Nick is a mischievous and daring student who loves to play pranks on his fellow classmates, especially on his best friend, Gof (played by Chutcha Rujinanon). The two are joined by their new friend, Bew (played by Brian Richard Garton), a foreigner who has just moved to Thailand and is struggling to fit in with the local culture.
The trio soon decide to play a prank on their classmates by pretending to be ghosts in the school's bathroom. However, things quickly turn serious when they accidentally disturb the spirit of a former student named Tirawat, who was notorious for his pranks during his time at the school. Tirawat's spirit begins to haunt the school and torment the students, who are unable to explain the strange occurrences happening around them.
The pranks of Tirawat's spirit are brazen, bold and horrifying. He is able to take the form of the students' worst fears and uses them to scare them. For example, one student is afraid of being buried alive, so Tirawat makes him feel as though he is suffocating while buried under the ground. Another student is petrified of spiders, so Tirawat releases hundreds of them into her bedroom at night.
As the students become more and more terrified, Nick, Gof, and Bew realize that they must try to put an end to the haunting. They seek the help of a local medium, who advises them to conduct a traditional Thai ritual to appease Tirawat's spirit. The ritual requires them to dress up in ancient Thai costumes and perform a dance in front of a statue of an ancient Thai king. The dance serves as a tribute to the king and is believed to have the power to appease any restless spirits.
The scene where the three main characters realize that they are the ones who need to perform the ritual to appease the spirit is a turning point in the movie. The movie takes on an epic feel, as the three friends put aside their differences and come together to perform the dance. The dance itself is both humorous and touching, and serves as a moment of catharsis for the audience, who have been on a rollercoaster of emotions up to this point.
Overall, Make Me Shudder is a fun, lighthearted movie that will make you laugh and jump out of your seat. The performances of the three leads are strong, and the horror elements of the movie are well-executed. The movie is a perfect blend of comedy and horror and is sure to appeal to fans of both genres.
