Luck of the Draw is an action-packed crime thriller released in 2000, directed by Luca Bercovici, and starring James Marshall, Dennis Hopper, and Michael Madsen in the lead roles. The film takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns, as a group of criminals get entangled in a dangerous game of Russian roulette that pits them against each other in a brutal fight for survival.

The movie starts with four criminals - Max (Marshall), Jack (Hopper), Vince (Madsen), and Chico (Vincent Spano) - robbing a diamond company in New York City. They manage to get away with the precious gems and flee to a small Mexican town to lay low. However, things take a sinister turn when they find themselves caught up in a deadly game of chance that they never expected.

The game begins when a mysterious stranger known only as Mr. Smith (William Forsythe) kidnaps the group and forces them to participate in a game of Russian roulette. Each round, one bullet is loaded into a revolver, which is then spun, the cylinder is closed, and the players take turns aiming the gun at their head and pulling the trigger. Each time, the person who survives the round receives a prize, but Mr. Smith's ultimate goal is to pit the criminals against each other until only one is left standing, with the winner taking all the diamonds and walking away alive.

As the game progresses, the tension builds, and the relationships between the criminals start to unravel. Old grudges resurface, and alliances shift as they try to outsmart each other and stay alive. Meanwhile, Mr. Smith watches from the sidelines, orchestrating the deadly game with ruthless efficiency.

The performances by the lead actors in Luck of the Draw are outstanding, with each delivering a nuanced portrayal of their character. James Marshall is convincing as Max, the cool-headed mastermind who always keeps his wits about him and comes up with a plan to beat Mr. Smith at his own game. Dennis Hopper is excellent as Jack, the unpredictable loose cannon who becomes increasingly unhinged as the game goes on. Michael Madsen is brilliant as Vince, the grizzled veteran criminal who's seen it all and knows how to survive in any situation. Vincent Spano is also solid as Chico, the hot-headed hothead with a chip on his shoulder.

The plot of Luck of the Draw is well-constructed, with plenty of surprising twists and turns to keep the audience engaged from start to finish. The Russian roulette game is a nail-biting concept that creates plenty of tension and suspense, and the way the film explores the dynamics between the characters is fascinating. The film also boasts excellent cinematography and a great soundtrack, which add to the overall feel of the movie.

Overall, Luck of the Draw is a highly entertaining crime thriller that's well worth watching. It's a movie that showcases the talents of its cast and director, and provides plenty of excitement and thrills along the way. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys action-packed movies with a twist.
