The U.S. Government considers Los Zetas to be the most advanced and dangerous drug cartel in all of Mexico. The film looks into their origins, and how began in late 1990s after commandos of the Mexican army broke rank and began working for another cartel. Years later they broke off and started Los Zetas becoming geographically the largest drug cartel in Mexico. Expanding beyond their traditional ways, they have adopted practices of sex trafficking and gun rackets as well. Participating in kidnappings, assassinations, and massacres of innocent people, their brutality and intimidation has made them the most feared criminals in Mexico.
