Looney Tunes: Back in Action is a 2003 live-action/animated comedy adventure film that unites the beloved characters from Warner Bros. cartoondom with human actors in a zany race to save the world. The unlikely pair team up to find the diamond and, along with some of our other much-loved characters, set off on a wild adventure that takes them around the world.
After joining forces with Warner Bros. studio exec Kate Houghton (Elfman), the trio sets off in search of the diamond. Their journey is fraught with danger, as they are constantly pursued by the evil Chairman of the Acme Corporation, Mr. Chairman (Martin), who has his own diabolical plans for the Blue Monkey. Along the way, they encounter many obstacles and challenges, including a run-in with classic villains Yosemite Sam (also voiced by Alaskey) and Elmer Fudd (voiced by Billy West), among others.
Throughout the film, the cartoon characters interact seamlessly with the human actors, and the blend of live-action and animation is expertly orchestrated. The film pays homage to the classic Looney Tunes cartoons of the past while also updating them for modern audiences.
