This drama film is based on a story written by Kurt Vonnegut. The main character, Newt, is an army soldier. Newt receives the news that his childhood friend, Catherine, is getting married. Newt then goes AWOL and travels to Catherine. When he reaches her, he confesses his love for her and attempts to convince her to not marry the wrong man.
