America's prisons are the most crowded in our nation's history and they hold more people per capita than any other country in the world. Credit the draconian Rockefeller Drug Laws which mandate minimum sentences of 15 years to life for first-time offenders. LOCKDOWN, USA follows the reform efforts of an unlikely coalition: outraged mothers, the hip-hop community under the leadership of Russell Simmons and former NAACP head Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Andrew Cuomo, and comedian turned political activist Randy Credico. Interwoven with their fight, is the moving struggle of Wanda Best, whole husband Darryl, was sentenced to a 15 year term under the Rockefeller laws.
