Littlerock is an independent film released in 2010 that tells the story of two siblings - Atsuko and Rintaro - who are visiting the US from Japan. They find themselves stranded in a small town called Littlerock, California when their car breaks down. As they wait for their car to be fixed, they try to make the best of their unfortunate situation and explore the town.

Atsuko, who speaks English well, is fascinated by American culture and wants to experience as much of it as possible. Her brother Rintaro, on the other hand, is more reserved and prefers to stay in their motel room and watch TV. Atsuko convinces him to join her on a trip to a bar where they meet a group of young people who are friendly and welcoming.

One of the people they meet is a young man named Cody, played by Cory Zacharia. Atsuko is immediately drawn to him, but he is more interested in partying and getting drunk than spending time with her. Despite this, Atsuko and Rintaro spend more time with the group over the next few days, exploring the town and enjoying each other's company.

As their stay in Littlerock continues, tensions begin to rise between the two groups. Atsuko starts to feel like an outsider, unable to fully connect with her new friends despite her best efforts. Meanwhile, Rintaro becomes increasingly bored and frustrated with their situation. He starts to express his desire to return to Japan, which causes tension between him and Atsuko.

The film does an excellent job of capturing the small town atmosphere, with its dusty roads and run-down buildings. The characters are all well-developed, with their own complex motivations and flaws. Atsuko in particular shines as the main character, as she struggles to find her place in a culture that is so different from her own.

One of the strengths of Littlerock is its focus on character development rather than plot. While not much happens in terms of action, the film is filled with subtle moments that reveal the characters' true nature. For example, Cody's drinking and partying is shown to be a way to cover up his own insecurities and frustrations with his life. Atsuko's desire to fit in with the group is slowly revealed to be a way to escape her own problems back home in Japan.

Overall, Littlerock is a poignant and often funny film that explores the complexities of culture, friendship, and identity. It is a great example of independent filmmaking at its best, with well-drawn characters and a compelling story that slowly builds to a satisfying conclusion. Anyone who is a fan of character-driven dramas will definitely enjoy this film.

Littlerock is a 2010 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.1 and a MetaScore of 66.
