Lila & Eve is a 2015 American thriller film directed by Charles Stone III and written by Patrick Gilfillan. The movie stars Viola Davis as Lila, a grief-stricken mother who teams up with Eve (Jennifer Lopez) to take matters into their own hands after Lila's son is murdered in a drive-by shooting. As the movie begins, we see Lila struggling to move on from the heartbreaking loss of her son. She attends group therapy sessions with other mothers who have lost children, but she finds little comfort in their shared pain. One evening, she attends a support group meeting where she meets Eve, another mother who has lost her daughter to violence. Eve seems more confident and self-assured than the other mothers, and Lila is drawn to her.

After the meeting, Lila is followed home by a car that shoots at her, but she narrowly escapes. When she tells Eve what happened, Eve convinces her to stop relying on the police to solve her son's murder and take matters into their own hands.

At first, Lila is hesitant to take such drastic measures, but after they witness another shooting in their neighborhood and see that the police are not doing enough to stop the violence, she becomes more determined. They begin by visiting the scene of her son's murder and asking questions of people who were there. They eventually find a witness who saw the shooter and get a description of his car.

Lila and Eve start tracking down the car, eventually leading them to a drug dealer named Skaketti (Lorenzo Pisoni). They take matters into their own hands by kidnapping and interrogating him, but their plan quickly goes awry. The two women find themselves in over their heads and they turn to Hector (Aml Ameen), a young man who works for Skaketti, for help.

Hector is drawn into the violent world of Lila and Eve, and they soon develop a bond as they work to find justice for Lila's son. However, as they get closer to the truth, they find that there are powerful people who will do anything to keep them from uncovering the truth.

The film is an intense thriller that explores the grief of a mother who has lost her child and the lengths she is willing to go to find the truth. Viola Davis gives a powerful performance as Lila, conveying the depth of her trauma and her fierce determination to seek justice. Jennifer Lopez is also impressive as Eve, providing a confident and charismatic foil to Davis's more introspective performance.

The film touches on themes such as violence, police corruption, and the power of community. Lila & Eve also addresses the complicated reality of life in inner-city America, where gun violence is a fact of life for many families. The film is a reminder of the human toll of gun violence and the desperate need for change.

In conclusion, Lila & Eve is a thrilling movie that is perfect for fans of suspenseful thrillers. With an excellent cast, a powerful story, and a message that resonates today, Lila & Eve is a movie that will stick with you long after the credits roll.

Lila & Eve is a 2015 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 34 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 45.
