In the comedy movie "Like a Boss," best friends Mia (Tiffany Haddish) and Mel (Rose Byrne) run a cosmetics business together. They've been inseparable since childhood and their bond has only grown stronger as they've grown up and started their own business. While their company, which creates eco-friendly makeup products, is still struggling to make a profit, Mia and Mel remain optimistic and confident that their passion and hard work will eventually pay off.
However, when a makeup mogul named Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) offers to buy their company, Mia and Mel are faced with a tough decision. They reject her offer, but soon regret it when they realize that they're facing serious financial trouble. In order to save their business, they team up with Luna, who promises to invest in their company and help them grow it into a global brand.
As they work together, Mia and Mel soon realize that Luna is not the trustworthy ally she appears to be. She quickly takes over their business, making major changes that undermine their core values and threaten to ruin everything they've worked so hard to build. In order to take back control of their company, they must confront Luna head-on and prove that their friendship and their ideals are worth fighting for.
Throughout the movie, Haddish delivers plenty of hilarious one-liners and physical comedy. Her character, Mia, is bold, outspoken, and unapologetic, while Byrne's character, Mel, is more reserved and focused on the details of their business. These differences in personality create plenty of tension and conflict between the two friends, but their love and loyalty to each other ultimately prevails.
Hayek's character, Claire Luna, is a perfectly-crafted villain â charming and charismatic on the outside, but ruthless and cunning underneath it all. She's a force to be reckoned with and her presence on screen adds an extra layer of excitement and suspense to the movie.
The overall message of the movie is about staying true to yourself and your values, even in the face of adversity. Mia and Mel are faced with many challenges throughout the film, both personally and professionally, but they never lose sight of what's important. They refuse to compromise their integrity for the sake of success, and in the end, their authenticity is what sets them apart from their competitors.
"Like a Boss" is a fun and entertaining movie that showcases the comedic talent of its cast. While it may not have the most complex plot or the most groundbreaking themes, it's a feel-good film that will leave you laughing and rooting for the characters until the very end.
