Leaves of Grass is a multi-layered tale that explores the complexities of identity, family ties, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. The movie is written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson, who also plays one of the lead roles in the film. The movie stars Edward Norton as twin brothers, Bill and Brady Kincaid, who couldn't be more different from each other.

Bill Kincaid is an Ivy League philosophy professor who resides in the Northeast, while his brother Brady is a pot-growing genius who never left their hometown in Oklahoma. When Bill receives a call from their mother, who informs him that Brady has been shot and killed, he immediately travels to OK to settle his brother's affairs.

Upon arriving in Oklahoma, Bill is shocked to discover that Brady is not dead but had faked his own death to get Bill to come to his aid. Brady wants Bill's help to get out of trouble with the local drug lord, Pug Rothbaum (played by Richard Dreyfuss).

Bill initially refuses, but after an encounter with Pug, he agrees to help his brother out of fear for his life. As Bill gets deeper into Brady's world, he discovers that he may not be as different from his brother as he thought. He begins to question his own morals and beliefs as he tries to navigate the dangerous and unpredictable world of drug-dealing.

The movie also explores the themes of racism and identity through the character of Bolger (played by Tim Blake Nelson), a white supremacist who has a change of heart after getting to know the Kincaid brothers. Bolger's transformation shows that people are not always who they appear to be and that change is possible.

Keri Russell plays the role of Janet, a local high school teacher who is drawn to Bill. Their relationship adds a romantic element to the movie and provides a much-needed break from the tension and violence.

The cinematography of the movie is stunning, capturing the beauty of Oklahoma and the stark contrast between the rural landscape and the dangerous underworld. The soundtrack is also notable, with a mix of bluegrass and rock music that perfectly complements the tone of the movie.

Overall, Leaves of Grass is a thought-provoking and suspenseful movie that explores the complexities of human nature. The outstanding performances by the cast, coupled with the excellent direction and cinematography, make this movie a must-see.

Leaves of Grass is a 2010 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 45 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4 and a MetaScore of 58.
