A possible inspiration for Phone Booth starring Colin Farrel, La Cabina was produced in 1972 and depicts a man trapped inside of a telephone box. People around him try to free him and when the firetruck comes to smash open the glass the phone company stops them and confiscates the booth with the man still trapped inside.
