Konthayum Poonoolum is a Malayalam-language thriller movie from 2014. The movie is directed by Jijo Antony and produced by Lumiere Film Company. It stars Kunchacko Boban, Bhama, and Anju Aravind in the lead roles, with Pradeep Nair and Manoj K. Jayan in supporting roles. The plot of the movie revolves around Akhil (Kunchacko Boban), a man who is in love with his childhood friend, Anu (Bhama). Anuâs family is wealthy and traditional, and they are against their relationship. When Anuâs parents come to know about their relationship, they forbid her from meeting Akhil again. Anu sees no way out of this problem and takes the drastic step of eloping with Akhil. They go to a hill station and settle there, but things take a turn for the worse when they discover that they are not the only ones on the hill.
The movie begins with a flashback that shows a group of friends, who had gone to the hill station for a trip. One of the friends, Rahul (Pradeep Nair), goes missing, and the others search for him but to no avail. The incident leaves a scar on their minds, and they never go back to the hill station again.
Akhil and Anu rent a house on the hill station, and they lead a happy life. One day, Anu disappears, and Akhil cannot find her. Akhil goes to the police, but they donât take him seriously. He realizes that he is on his own and embarks on the dangerous journey of finding his love.
In his search, Akhil comes across Vishnu (Manoj K. Jayan), a local who seems to know something about Anuâs disappearance. Vishnu tells Akhil that there is an evil force on the hill that preys on young couples, and that he needs to leave the place as soon as possible.
Akhil refuses to believe Vishnu and continues his search. He meets a few other people, who seem to know about Anu or have some connection with her. The more Akhil tries to find Anu, the more he realizes that he is in grave danger.
The movie has many twists and turns, and the suspense builds up till the climax. The director has done an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged throughout the movie. The actors have also delivered outstanding performances, especially Kunchacko Boban and Bhama.
The cinematography of the movie is top-notch, and the hill station provides a picturesque backdrop for the story. The music by M Jayachandran is also noteworthy and adds to the suspense of the movie.
