Killshot is a 2008 crime thriller movie based on Elmore Leonard's 1989 novel of the same name. The movie follows the story of a couple, Carmen and Wayne Colson, who accidentally witness a murder by two hitmen, Blackbird and Richie Nix. The hitmen are hired by a criminal organization to eliminate a former mob hitman who has turned state witness. The witness protection program relocates the Colson couple fearing they will be the next targets. However, the hitmen discover their whereabouts and the couple soon find themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

The movie opens with the Colson couple living a normal suburban life until Wayne, a house painter, accidentally witnesses a murder. As a result, they are forced to flee their home and are relocated under witness protection. The couple is placed under the care of a federal marshal, played by Tom Jane, who is tasked with keeping them safe. Despite being under federal protection, the hitmen manage to track them down and seek to eliminate them.

As the story unfolds, the movie portrays the hitmen, Blackbird, played by Mickey Rourke, and Richie Nix, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as violent and brutal. They are motivated by greed and a desire to eliminate anyone who gets in their way. Blackbird is portrayed as the older, more experienced hitman who is trying to teach Richie the ropes. Richie, on the other hand, is shown as being more impulsive and inexperienced, often making rash decisions.

As the movie progresses, it becomes clear that the hitmen are not the only danger to the Colson couple. Carmen, played by Diane Lane, struggles with the emotional trauma of witnessing a murder and being forced to flee her home. Wayne, played by Thomas Jane, tries to protect his wife while dealing with his own guilt over the situation. The federal marshal assigned to protect the couple also finds himself in danger, as his loyalty is questioned and his own past catches up with him.

One of the strengths of Killshot is its strong cast of actors. Thomas Jane, Diane Lane, and Mickey Rourke deliver compelling performances that keep the audience engaged throughout the movie. Joseph Gordon-Levitt also delivers an excellent performance as Richie, the inexperienced hitman who is looking to prove his worth.

The movie also benefits from its strong direction by John Madden. The pacing of the movie is excellent, with the tension building throughout until the final, explosive climax. The cinematography is also of a high standard, with some beautiful shots of the Michigan landscape.

In summary, Killshot is a tense, action-packed crime thriller that delivers on all fronts. With a strong cast, excellent direction, and a compelling story, it is a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. If you're a fan of crime thrillers, Killshot is definitely worth checking out.
