Killing Jesus is a 2015 film which tells the story of the last days of Jesus Christ based on the book by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard. The movie depicts the key events from the Gospels such as the preaching of Jesus, his betrayal and arrest by Judas, his trial and execution by the Romans, and his resurrection. Kelsey Grammer portrays the role of King Herod in this film which is set in the 1st century AD. Herod is a paranoid and ruthless ruler who is fascinated by John the Baptist and is intrigued when he hears about the rumors of a new messiah.

Eoin Macken plays the role of Herod Antipas, the son of King Herod, who orders the execution of John the Baptist after he openly criticizes him for his marriage to his own brother's widow, Herodias.

Vernon Dobtcheff plays the role of the high priest, Caiaphas, who is threatened by Jesus' growing popularity among the people and feels that he must take action to stop him. He conspires with the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, to have Jesus arrested and put on trial before the Sanhedrin.

Throughout the movie, we see Jesus portrayed as a wise and compassionate leader, who is loved by his disciples and the people of Jerusalem. He preaches about love, forgiveness, and the kingdom of God.

The film covers various significant events from Jesus' life, such as the cleansing of the temple, the Last Supper, and the betrayal of Judas. The scenes of the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane are particularly moving, as they show Jesus' humanity and the anguish he feels knowing what is about to happen to him.

The movie also portrays the political and religious tensions that existed in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus' crucifixion. The Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, is depicted as a cautious and pragmatic leader who is annoyed by the Jewish zealots who disrupt the peace in Jerusalem with their uprisings. He is reluctant to execute Jesus, but eventually succumbs to the pressure from the Jewish leaders and agrees to have him crucified.

Overall, Killing Jesus is a well-made and thought-provoking movie about the last days of Jesus Christ. The film offers different perspectives on the events leading up to his crucifixion and sheds light on the political and religious tensions that existed at the time. The performances by the cast, particularly Kelsey Grammer and Eoin Macken, are excellent, and the movie's production values are high. It is definitely worth watching for anyone interested in the story of Jesus' life and the origins of Christianity.

Killing Jesus is a 2015 tv movie with a runtime of 2 hours and 12 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.6.
