Kill Mobile is a Chinese dark-comedy thriller film from 2018 that revolves around the idea of cell phone addiction, and technological advancements that can be used to manipulate human behavior. Another character, Dong, is played by Li Ma, is the opposite of Nuo; he is a simple man who is content with his life and does not have much attachment to his phone. He is inadvertently thrown into the game, and is at a disadvantage because he is not as reliant on his phone as the other participants. Li Ma's performance skillfully showcases the transformation that Dong undergoes in order to outlast his opponents.

The female lead, Xixi, is played by Siyan Huo, portraying a woman who is addicted to social media, and is constantly looking for the approval of her online followers. Her dependence on social media is weaponized to keep her alive in the game, however, the cost of her survival is her sanity.

The interplay of these characters, along with the supporting cast, is brilliantly done, as they navigate the complex rules of the game that challenge their wits and perseverance. As the film progresses, the stakes get higher, and the situation becomes increasingly bleak, driving the participants into an intense battle for survival.

The cinematography of the film is also noteworthy, as Miao Yu masterfully uses lighting, sound, and camera angles to create a claustrophobic atmosphere that mimics the experience of the participants. The setting of the film takes place entirely within the building; thus, the movie relies heavily on the use of confined spaces and camera movement to add a sense of suspense to the story. The utilization of the maze-like building creates a sense of unpredictability, and as the movie progresses, the space itself becomes a character in the story.
