Kasme Vaade is a Bollywood drama film from the late 1970s that tells the story of two men and the woman they both love. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Randhir Kapoor, and Rakhee Gulzar in leading roles. The main plot revolves around Amitabh Bachchan's character, Amit, and Randhir Kapoor's character, Suman. Amit is a wealthy businessman who falls in love with Suman, an aspiring singer. However, Suman is already engaged to be married to Kamal, played by Prem Chopra. Despite being engaged, Suman reciprocates Amit's feelings and the two become lovers.
The story then takes a dramatic turn when Kamal catches the two together and, in a fit of rage, attempts to kill Amit. Amit defends himself and ends up killing Kamal in self-defense. Suman is devastated by Kamal's death and decides to stay by Amit's side during his trial. Amit is ultimately acquitted of the murder charge, and he and Suman get married.
However, their happy life is short-lived when Suman is diagnosed with a terminal illness. She decides to sacrifice her own happiness and asks Amit to marry her sister-in-law, Ranjana, played by Rakhee Gulzar, after she passes away. Amit reluctantly agrees but finds that he is falling in love with Ranjana. The rest of the movie follows Amit's struggle to reconcile his love for Suman and his growing feelings for Ranjana.
The film is known for its powerful performances by the lead actors, particularly Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee Gulzar. Bachchan delivers a nuanced performance as the conflicted Amit, torn between his love for Suman and his growing attachment to Ranjana. Gulzar is equally impressive as Ranjana, portraying a woman who is strong and compassionate in the face of tragedy.
Kasme Vaade also features some memorable songs, composed by R.D. Burman and featuring vocals by some of the biggest singers of the era, including Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, and Asha Bhosle.
Overall, Kasme Vaade is a classic Bollywood film that explores themes of love, sacrifice, and tragedy. Its stellar cast and memorable music make it a must-watch for fans of Hindi cinema.
