Kannodu Kanbathellam is a 1999 Tamil-language thriller film starring Arjun Sarja, Sonali Bendre, and Suchindra Bali. The film was directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Kaja Moideen. The film opens with a group of robbers stealing a valuable idol from a temple. However, one of them gets caught by the police and in order to escape, he throws the idol into a passing car.
