Just Visiting is a comedy movie from 2001, directed by Jean-Marie Poiré. The movie is a remake of the French film Les Visiteurs, which was also directed by Poiré. The story revolves around a knight named Count Thibault of Malfete (played by Jean Reno), who lives in 12th century France. He accidentally gets transported to present-day Chicago along with his loyal servant, André le Pate (played by Christian Clavier). They end up in the middle of a museum, where they are stunned by the technological advancements of the modern era.

Count Thibault is desperate to get back to his own time, so he seeks out the help of his wizard, Eusebius (played by Malcolm McDowell). However, Eusebius is unable to send him back and warns him not to change anything in the future, as it may have disastrous consequences.

Meanwhile, André le Pate encounters Julia Malfete (played by Christina Applegate), who looks exactly like Thibault's late wife. Julia is surprised to see that André is calling her by her maiden name and tells him that the Malfete family was once very wealthy and powerful in France, but has since fallen on hard times.

Julia works as a tour guide at the museum and offers to help Thibault and André acclimate to the modern world. They have to navigate things like cars, elevators, and electricity, which are completely foreign to them. Thibault is particularly taken with Julia, who he believes is the reincarnation of his late wife.

As Thibault and Julia get to know each other better, they form a romantic connection. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Thibault is from another time and place. Furthermore, Julia is engaged to a wealthy businessman named Hunter (played by Matthew Ross).

Thibault and André also get into various comedic mishaps, such as accidentally walking into a strip club and getting arrested for stealing a car. Throughout the movie, there are numerous hilarious moments as the medieval characters are confronted with the modern world.

In the third act of the movie, Thibault discovers that he has the ability to travel back and forth between the past and present. This creates a number of opportunities for comedic chaos, as he tries to juggle multiple timelines.

Just Visiting is a light-hearted comedy that is perfect for anyone looking for a good laugh. The movie has a lot of heart, and the romantic subplot between Thibault and Julia adds a nice emotional depth to the story. The acting is solid all-around, with Jean Reno in particular shining as the fish-out-of-water knight. If you like slapstick comedy and time-travel, you'll love Just Visiting.

Just Visiting is a 2001 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7 and a MetaScore of 38.
