The 1971 film "Jo" involves the story of Antoine Brisebard, a comedic playwright who deals with his current financial difficulties by trying to sell his country estate. Complicating all his plans is the fact that he is presently a victim of blackmail. An extortionist known only as "Jo" visits Brisebard frequently to collect blackmail payments. Unable to sell his estate quickly enough, Brisebard faces certain financial ruin if he is unable to pay his blackmailer. The only solution that Brisebard can come up with is to do away with Jo by killing him and hiding his body. The body however, stubbornly refuses to remain hidden.
