Jilla is a Tamil action-drama film from 2014 that tells the story of two adopted brothers, Shakthi and Vetri, played by Joseph Vijay and Mohanlal, respectively, who share a special bond despite their different personalities. Shakthi is a carefree and irresponsible young man who enjoys life to the fullest without any worry or responsibility. Vetri, on the other hand, is a police officer who lives for justice and wants to rid his city of crime and corruption.

The film starts with a flashback to the 1980s, where we learn that Shakthi and Vetri were orphaned at a young age when their parents were killed in a gang war. They were taken under the wing of the local don, Honnappa Bhagavathar. Shakthi is not interested in joining the criminal world, but Vetri sees it as an opportunity to make the gang more respectable and use their power to serve the people. He takes it upon himself to work towards making the gang a force for good, which causes a rift between him and Honnappa.

Fast forward to the present day, and Shakthi is leading a carefree life as a petty thief, albeit one who has a heart of gold. Vetri, meanwhile, is still a respected police officer who is single-minded in his pursuit of justice. The city they live in is controlled by two powerful and corrupt gangs, one led by Daddy, played by Sampath Raj, and the other by Chinna, played by Pradeep Rawat. The police have been trying to bring these gangs down for years, but their efforts have been in vain.

One day, Shakthi unwittingly gets involved in a scuffle with some of Daddy's henchmen and attracts the attention of the gang leader himself. Daddy is impressed by Shakthi's bravery, and they strike up a friendship despite the fact that Shakthi is unaware of Daddy's true identity. At the same time, Vetri is transferred to the city, where he meets and falls in love with Shanthi, played by Kajal Aggarwal, who happens to be Daddy's niece.

Shakthi and Vetri's paths cross again when Daddy is revealed to be the gang leader who killed their parents years ago. This sets off a chain of events that leads to a final showdown between Shakthi and Vetri on one side and Daddy and Chinna on the other. The film is filled with twists and turns, as well as plenty of action and drama, and culminates in a satisfying and emotional climax.

The performances in the film are top-notch, with Joseph Vijay and Mohanlal bringing their A-game as the two brothers with distinctly different personalities. Their chemistry on screen is palpable, and they manage to convey the depth of their relationship without it feeling contrived or forced. Kajal Aggarwal is also excellent as Shanthi, bringing a sense of vulnerability and strength to her character.

The music in the film, composed by D. Imman, is a highlight, with catchy and memorable songs that add to the overall tone of the movie. The cinematography is also impressive, with stunning visuals that capture the beauty of South India.

Overall, Jilla is a well-crafted and entertaining movie that combines action, drama, and a touch of romance to create a thrilling and engaging experience. It is a must-watch for fans of Tamil cinema, and even those who are not familiar with the genre will find plenty to enjoy in this film.
