Japón, the Spanish word for the country of Japan, is a Mexican film from 2002. While undergoing a complete breakdown, a man leaves Mexico City with plans to die out in the unsettled wastes of the Mexican countryside. He encounters an aboriginal widow living near a sweeping canyon and she offers him hospitality. With nothing but the woman and natural vistas surrounding him, the man struggles to re-assess his place in the world and with humanity. All dialogue spoken in the film is delivered in Mexican Spanish.
