Isabelle Eberhardt is an English language, Franco-Australian film from 1991. The titular film examines the life and times of Isabelle Eberhardt, a Swiss woman who spent much of her time exploring the desert areas of the African continent, wrote about her discoveries in the desert, and transitioned away from Christianity in favor of Islam. While within Islamic areas, Isabelle posed as a man and would answer to the name Si Mahmoud Essadi.
