Inner Demons is a found-footage horror film directed by Seth Grossman and released in 2014. It tells the story of a young woman named Carson Morris who is addicted to drugs and is sent to rehab in order to overcome her addiction. When a documentary crew arrives to film her experience, they quickly realize that there may be more to Carson's addiction than just drugs.
The movie begins with Carson (played by Lara Vosburgh) being sent to rehab after her parents find drugs in her room. The rehab center is run by Dr. Kazan (Morgan McClellan), who believes that addiction is caused by demons possessing the addict's body. Carson is initially resistant to this idea but begins to experience strange things while in rehab, including seeing a mysterious figure in her room and hearing voices.
The documentary crew, led by director Mark (Christopher Parker), quickly becomes interested in Carson's case and begins filming her experiences. They interview the other patients in the rehab center, including young couple Tony (Lem Collins) and Tanya (Colleen McGrann), who are struggling with their own addictions.
As the days go by, Carson's behavior becomes more erratic and she begins to exhibit signs of possession. The documentary crew continues to film, even as they realize that they may be in danger from the demons possessing Carson.
The tension builds throughout the movie, as the documentary crew and other patients try to figure out what is happening to Carson. There are several intense and scary scenes, including a séance in which the group tries to communicate with the demons and a tense confrontation between Carson and a fellow patient.
One of the strengths of the movie is the acting, particularly from Vosburgh in the lead role. She does a great job of portraying Carson's descent into madness and her struggle against the demons. The rest of the cast is also strong, particularly Collins and McGrann as Tony and Tanya.
The found-footage style of filming works well for the movie, as it adds to the realism and tension. The use of security cameras and handheld cameras throughout the rehab center creates a sense of claustrophobia and unease, as if the demons could be lurking around any corner.
Overall, Inner Demons is a well-made horror movie that is both scary and thought-provoking. It raises interesting questions about addiction and the nature of evil, and the ending is both satisfying and creepy. Fans of found-footage horror films will definitely want to check this one out.
