Igor is a 2008 American animated fantasy comedy film directed by Tony Leondis, written by Chris McKenna and John Hoffman, and distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The film features the voices of John Cusack, Molly Shannon, Steve Buscemi, Eddie Izzard, John Cleese, Jennifer Coolidge, and Arsenio Hall. The movie takes place in a land called Malaria, where the inhabitants are all mad scientists who compete in an annual Evil Science Fair to determine who is the most evil and who will run the country. The country is ruled by King Malbert (Jay Leno), a bumbling king who is more interested in golfing than ruling his kingdom.

The story centers around Igor (John Cusack), a hunchbacked lab assistant who dreams of becoming a mad scientist himself rather than just being the assistant to one. He works in the lab of the evil scientist Dr. Glickenstein (John Cleese), who creates monsters for the Evil Science Fair. Igor has his own secret lab underneath Dr. Glickenstein's lab, where he creates his own inventions and experiments.

When Dr. Glickenstein dies in an explosion caused by one of his failed experiments, Igor sees his chance to enter the Evil Science Fair himself. But he needs a monster to enter the competition, so he decides to create his own. He joins forces with other misfits, including Scamper (Steve Buscemi), a suicidal rabbit who serves as Igor's lab assistant, and Brain (Sean Hayes), a not-so-bright brain in a jar who serves as Igor's sidekick.

Igor successfully creates a monster called Eva (Molly Shannon), who is unlike any other monster created in Malaria. She is not evil, but instead has a kind heart and a beautiful singing voice. Eva becomes popular with the people of Malaria, winning the hearts of everyone she meets, including Igor.

With the Evil Science Fair fast approaching, Igor must navigate the dangerous waters of Malaria's mad scientist community to keep Eva safe and to win the competition. He faces off against his rival, the evil mad scientist Dr. Schadenfreude (Eddie Izzard), who wants to destroy Malaria and rule the world with his own inventions.

The movie is a fun and imaginative story that pokes fun at the conventions of the monster movie genre. The characters are engaging and the voice acting is spot-on, with John Cusack bringing a perfect blend of humor and heart to the role of Igor. Molly Shannon's performance as Eva is also noteworthy, adding a touch of sweetness and innocence to the film.

The animation is bright and colorful, with detailed character designs and backgrounds that bring the world of Malaria to life. The music is also a highlight, with catchy original songs and a memorable score by Patrick Doyle.

Overall, Igor is a charming and entertaining movie that will appeal to both kids and adults. It combines humor, heart, and imagination to create a unique and enjoyable story that is well worth watching.

Igor is a 2008 animated movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 40.
